Fundraising Since fundraising plays such a significant role in providing W.A.G.S program services, many events are held throughout the year. All events rely on the support of dedicated volunteers to the program. Events include: AIDS Walk Detroit – Team W.A.G.S. Bring your pet and walk with Team W.A.G.S. in downtown Royal Oak each September. This is an easy way to raise money, promote awareness about HIV and AIDS, and show your support for the pet loving community. Contact the W.A.G.S. program coordinator at (248) 545-1435 to join Team W.A.G.S. and receive your pledge form. Thanksgiving Basket Project Living on a limited or fixed budget is especially difficult during the holiday season and that is why we created our Thanksgiving basket project. Baskets not only include pet toys, treats, and various items but, also necessities for the pet owner's such as toothbrushes and shampoo that many of us take for granted. Donations are solicited throughout the entire year and are set aside for the holiday season. Help create the baskets, recruit potential donors and join the fun every holiday season.
Dog Wash and Nail Clip Events The dogs are literally lined up for this summertime dog wash and nail clipping event. Participating veterinarians throughout Metro Detroit dedicate the proceeds for one day to support the W.A.G.S. program. Volunteers help in recruiting their local veterinarians and even volunteer at the actual event. Inside or outside, it will be a dong-gone good time for all!
Recycling for Charities Have an old cell phone, PDA, palm pilot or other electronic equipment? Donate any of these items to W.A.G.S. and help raise valuable funds while cleaning up the environment. Cash for Critters Don't throw away your empty ink jet printer cartridges, give them to us instead. Bring in or mail your used ink jet cartridges so we can turn your trash into cash for our program.
