What information is needed to complete the W.A.G.S. application process?

Applicants are required to submit proof of HIV status, verification of total monthly income received and documentation confirming pet ownership (city licensing paperwork and veterinarian records are among the most common).

When can I go to the W.A.G.S. office to collect monthly certificates?

Monthly certificates are distributed during normal business hours, Monday through Friday. Please note, there are some exceptions when the office is not open for business (holidays, extreme weather situations, etc.). No appointment is necessary, however we recommend calling to confirm that certificates are available.

What is the W.A.G.S. service area?

The W.A.G.S. service area includes metro Detroit and its surrounding counties.

 

Can gift certificates be sent to me via mail?

No. Clients must pick-up certificates at our offices located at 429 Livernois, Ferndale, MI 48220.

How many pets am I allowed to enroll into the program?

Clients can add up to 3 pets upon initial enrollment into the program.

Can I remain in the program if I lose ownership of a pet or pets?

If a client no longer owns the pet or pets that were identified at the time of enrollment, he/she will no longer qualify for the program. However, he/she is allowed to re-apply as long as he/she fits within the eligibility guidelines.

What types of pets does the W.A.G.S. program cover?

Currently the W.A.G.S. program is for pet owners of cats and dogs, however, an exception can be made for pet owners of other animals. Contact the W.A.G.S. program coordinator at (248) 545-1435 for more information.
